30,000 IHG Rewards points (6,000 Avios points) free with the IHG Rewards Club Visa
IHG Rewards have tripled the usual 10,000 point sign up bonus with their IHG Visa credit card. If you apply for an IHG Rewards Club Visa between now and 31st March 2015 then you will receive 30,000 IHG Reward points when you make your first purchase within 90 days of having the card.
This is an excellent offer. IHG runs a worldwide network of over 4,700 hotels. Reward night redemptions start at 10,000 points, so the 30,000 point sign up bonus could get you 3 nights in a hotel. IHG also sometimes runs promotions where you can book reward nights for just 5,000 points, so the sign up bonus might be worth a 6 night stay. If you prefer Avios points you could convert 30,000 IHG points into 6,000 Avios points.
Other benefits of the card include:
- 2 Reward Club points for each £1 you spend at an IHG hotel
- 1 Reward Club point for each £1 spent elsewhere
- A free night voucher if you spend £10,000 on the card in a year
- IHG Rewards Club Gold Elite status for the life of the card
These ongoing benefits aren’t exactly mindblowing, but the sign up bonus really is excellent. The card does not have an annual fee, so I plan to make a single £1 purchase on it to receive my 30,000 IHG points. When the points have posted to my account I will cancel the card!
