Avios Points

This page lists the most up to date offers for collecting Avios points. Free ways of earning Avios points are listed first, followed by ways of earning Avios points which require some spending.

Free Avios Points

1,000 Avios points – 1,000 free Avios points with Iberia using the Hailo taxi app (Android users only) (offer reverts to 400 Avios points on 1st March)

750 Avios points – join e-Rewards through either the avios.com website or the British Airways Executive Club (‘BAEC’) website and when you complete your first survey your avios.com/BAEC account will be credited with 750 Avios.

Another 750 Avios points – join e-Rewards through Iberia Plus and get another 750 Avios for completing your first survey.

600 Avios points – join Rewards for Thoughts through avios.com and get 600 Avios for completing your first survey.

Another 600 Avios points – join Rewards for Thoughts through the British Airways Executive Club and get 600 Avios points for completing your first survey.

400 Avios points – complete various simple tasks on the Avios Suitcase Facebook app to earn Avios points. For example, you earn 150 points just for ‘linking’ the app to your avios.com account.

50 Avios points – sign up to the Shell Drivers’ Club and get 50 free Avios points.

100 Tesco Clubcard points (converts to 240 Avios) – fill in your car insurance, pet insurance, house insurance and mortgage renewal dates with Tesco Bank. The offer expires 5th May 2015. For more details see my review.

Variable – Shopper Thoughts is free to join and offers Clubcard points for completing surveys both online and in-store through the mobile app.

2,016 Avios points – sign up for a free trial with Experian through TopCashBack to earn 2,016 Avios.

2,040 Avios points – sign up for a free trial with Equifax through TopCashBack to earn 2,040 Avios.

2,016 Avios points – sign up for a free account with Money Dashboard through TopCashBack.

2,016 Avios points – sign up for a free trial with My Credit Monitor through TopCashBack.

1,260 Avios points – sign up for a free trial with DriveNow through TopCashBack.

252 Avios points (and a free snack box) – sign up for a free trial with Graze through TopCashBack.

Avios Points Requiring Spending

25 Tesco Clubcard points (60 Avios points) monthly – earn these points with Tesco Views.

150 Tesco Clubcard points (360 Avios points) – when you spend £50 on branded gift cards at Tesco.

100 Tesco Clubcard points (240 Avios points) – Tesco offer up to 100 Clubcard points (250 Avios points) for each used ink cartridge that you recycle.  You can recycle up to 100 cartridges per household, per year. More details are here.

1 Tesco Clubcard points (2.4 Avios points) – Tesco offers 1 Clubcard point for each of your own bags you use to pack your shopping. This is obviously a fairly trivial amount, but if you get in the habit of doing it the points will add up.  Five bags a week amounts to 256 Clubcard points (614 Avios points) each year.

Avios Points Credit Card Sign Up Bonuses

9,000 Avios points – the British Airways AMEX currently gives you 9,000 Avios for a £1,000 initial spend in 3 months (1,000 more Avios if you get referred).  For more details see my review.

25,000 Avios points – the British Airways Premium Plus AMEX gives you 25,000 Avios for a £3,000 initial spend in 3 months, but has a £150 annual fee.  For more details see my review.

20,000 Avios points – the AMEX Preferred Rewards Gold Charge Card gives you 20,000 Membership Reward Points (converts to 20,000 Avios points) for a £2,000 spend in 3 months.  There is a £125 annual fee, but this is waived for the first year. Get the charge card, make the initial spend, convert your points to Avios and cancel the card before the 2nd year kicks in! For more details see my review.

30,000 IHG Reward points (6,000 Avios points) – the IHG Rewards Club Visa has tripled its sign up bonus. Between now and 31st March 2015 you will receive 30,000 IHG points (converts to 6,000 Avios points) when you make your first purchase with the card. For more details see my review.
